Would a zebra snail help eliminate some of the algae in my tank?

I have a 60litre aquarium which has a bit of a algae problem. Would a snail help eliminate some of the algae? i cant really add anymore fish as i already have one sailfin molly, 1 pearl gourami, and 3 red eye tetra, so its already a little overstocked.|||Your tank is a bit overstocked, and your schools are understocked :(. This makes a tank very sad :/.

I suggest returning the pearl gourami, adding at least 2 to give you a trio of mollies, and add at least 2-3 tetra to make them a school.

Mollies aren't really schooling fish, but they do feel safer in numbers. Adding to make them a trio is a wonderful idea. It'd make your current molly much more comfortable.

If a schooling fish is not being kept in a proper sized school, especially tetra, they are likely to become uncomfortable and stressed... Which will eventually bring out unwanted behavior like fin nipping, or illness. A school should be 5-6+.

Also, no matter what fish you add to eat algae, the only REAL way to take care of an algae problem is YOU. You should be doing a 25% water change once a week with a gravel vac. You should be cleaning the filter once a month. And if algae ever decides to build up really thick on the glass, you must get a scrapper to clean it off.

Even with algae eating fish, the job they do is very minimal compared to what you can do.|||Think you need to boil some, or fry some, to make some room in your tank. I'm sure they would rather be battered and served with chips than live in a cramped tank. Think of their feelings.|||yeah that would work out
