I want to use sand for my mystery snail's home, but the only sand I have is some that is spread out all over the ground outside.
It was from a sandbox a long time ago.
If I scoop some up and clean it, will it be safe to use?
Can I use dirt/mud as a substrate?|||I wouldn't use dirt for an aquatic snail, and the sand from outside won't be safe to use. Just buy gravel from the pet store.|||Not safe, too much chance of contamination, not worth doing.
If this is an aquarium set up, then no you don't want any of those things in the tank.
