How can i stop my golden apple snail floating?

i've got a lovely great big golden apple snail but i think he must have some air in his shell. Several times a day he lets go of the side and just floats. If i pick him up and turn him over, he curls up in his shell, thus pushing the air back inside him so I can never get it out.|||Haha, they always do that. If you think something is seriously wrong, ask a vet or petstore.|||put a rock on top of him......|||Try flicking it before you put it back...|||Mine did the same and I put it down to 'instinct in the wild' as once the snail feels all the food source has gone they fill themselves with air to be carried on the current before releasing the air and sinking to start looking for food all over again!

Don't worry I am sure it is normal..

:-)|||He is fine don't worry about it. It is prefectly normal. Just leave him floating when he gets close to the side he will adhere to it if he wants.

Good Luck
