How do you request a return receipt via snail mail?

I got a speeding ticket in NY and I have to mail my ticket back into them along with a Request for Return Receipt. Never heard of a Return Receipt for snail mail?|||Send it certified mail, it just costs a couple of dollars extra. The post office will give you the slip you need.|||Possibly include an SASE when you mail back your ticket.

Or, of course, like the others said. Send it certified mail, that way you get back a card with the signature of the person who signed for the envelope so that they can't say 'we never received it.' You'll need to go to the post office and it will cost a few bucks.|||Geez, where have you been? A return receipt is given for registered or certified mail. You certify the letter to the police department, that way someone has to sign for it and you get a receipt back showing they have received your payment. Otherwise, you have no proof that anyone received the payment, much less posted it to your speeding ticket.

Believe it or not, "snail mail" as you call it, has actually been around longer than the internet, as you know it.|||http://www.usps.com/send/waystosendmail/鈥?/a>|||Just go to your post office. It's basically a post card and identification number that they attach to the outside of your envelope. It costs about 3.00.|||You have to mail it at the post office and they will give you a sticker to put on the envelope that will be mailed back to you.
