How can u find out if a snail is alive or dead in my samll aquarium?

i have a samll bowl which has some 3 paitrs of barb fishes and a snail. i ceaned the tank only couple of days back but yesterday i noticed the snail was floating in the water.any help|||this is gross but you have to smell it. if it smells fishy it is dead.

it might jjust be floating for the sake of floating. put it near a leaf or the side of the tank and see if it will grab on.

3 pairs of barbs in a bowl? they will all die. the need a larger TANK with filtration.|||If the snail is floating it is most likely dead. All you really can do is push it back to the ground and see if it moves after a while, not much else you can do.|||pleas check out this fish forum. its new sign up!

Also, if it smells gross or gives off a bad smelling liquid, it also may be dead. Just watch where it is located in the tank and see if it is in the same place the next day.

And by the way, your tank is so over stocked I can not even ponder how you can expect your fish to live. Barbs need way larger tanks, at least 1 gallon per inch of fish. No fish besides bettas anyway can live in an unfiltered environment with only surface air available. I would not be surprised if they all died in their own, unfiltered filth.

Please, do your fish a favor and get them out of that closet of a home. If not, you will pay for it.|||look in the shell
