What is the best kind of snail to clean my aquarium?

What is the best kind of snail to clean my aquarium?|||mystery snails and malaysian trumpet snails are the best, they eat everything including fish poo, however, they reproduce like no tomorrow. so keep close watch on their population. start with a single snail to keep it clean if you do not want a snail infestaion, otherwise, you may have to remove a few constantly.|||If it's freshwater I would recommend nerite snails.

They have separate genders, and their eggs do not hatch in anything besides brackish water (the larvae need then to be moved to saltwater to grow their shells, otherwise they'll just die). Do not bother plants and eat virtually any kind of algae.|||you never specified how big your tank is nor what fish you have - schoolkid mistake.

anyway, for a community tank of around 10 gallons or more, an apple(mystery) snail.|||Snails can help eat leftover food, but they will not clean your aquarium. The more leftover food they help clean, the more they poop, and the worse your water quality gets. Water changes are the way to go :)|||mystery snails are the best, they are fast moving and can really clear your walls in a few hours, you should get some ghost shrimp if you want to keep the gravel/sand/substrate clean.|||Mystery snail or some pond snails. I have pond snails and they do a great job.

***Almost all snails eat fish waste... Pond snail, trumpet snails and mystery snails all do...|||not sure why noone mentioned olive nerite snails. these things look good, are of smaller size, and cannot breed in freshwater tanks. so no infestations. I'd use nothing else.|||nerite snails.
