How does one feed a mystery snail?

I have a fish tank with 4 small goldfish. And I just added a mystery snail to the tank. I read that the snail eats alge and fish flakes. But goldfish are gobbling up all the fish flakes before the snail has chance to eat any. How do I feed the snail? Take it out of tank to feed it separately? Thanks!|||They have pellets for algae eaters you can try. It drops to the bottom of the tank. My friend had a similar problem with their topical tank that had a snail. That you can take a piece of lettuce and put some gravel on it or put it underneath a decoration to hold it to the bottom. The gold fish would nip at it but I doubt they'll do it much.|||Good Answers so I'll just add I've tried algae wafers, the snails don't want them and the fish love them. The best I can do for the snails and they are happy and growing is to add more algae building surface for them, plants, decor, wood. Vegetables have to be slightly blanched or throw the veg in and let it rot a few days. Their teeth can't dig in to fresh veggies. Spinach seems to be their favorite, lettuce, cucumbers(very messy). A word of caution though. Rotting vegetables raise the ammonia level very quickly so give them a day to find and eat it then pull it out. This is a nice supplement one time that lasts them 10 or so days. Another caution, 1-2 snails in a 10 gallon keeps them fed. Any more snails than that and they are competing with each other for tank algae and one will starve.|||they usually feed off of algae on the sides of the tank and decor. If you want to feed them boiled zucchini or lettuce, they'll eat that too. You can also add extra flakes for the bottom and they'll eat that too. Whether they'll get to it in time is another story.
