My snail has been in a tiny tiny tank/bowl thing for a year. It seems to have been fine so far, but since I was planning on starting a real tank I was hoping that I may be able to give it a better home.
Would it not do well in a larger unheated tank?
And I know if I do put it in I need to give time for algae to grow so it doesn't starve.|||you can put it in warm or cold water, it won't bother it - neither will the fish.
you also don't need to worry about how much algae is in the tank, it will always find something to eat. (left over food, algae that you can see.. dead fish :) )
I personaly keep Nerite's in all my tanks, except my loach tank. and they all do a great job.
