How can you tell if a snail is dead?

I have a pet land snail, Just got it yesterday, Put it in a tank with some leaves in it, And it climbed up on the wall and isnt moving.. It hasnt been moving for nearly 24 hours and I am not sure if its dead or not... Its one of those small snails that you'd see crawling on the sidewalk, Help?|||Many snails stay still for many days therefore it seems like your snail is probally sleeping. I remember that snails can sleep up to a million?no maybe thousand years. So no its not dead.|||well, sorry to break it to you but your snail is suffering from the disease of deoxygenation. It happens a lot with small snails and slugs, best medication is fresh air and TLC. and if you pour salt on it it helps alot

salt needs to be put on asap bring it back and get the heart pumping again|||he is suffering from deoxygenation. I am sorry. but spray salt water on him that might help.


P.S can you help me with my pet problem. i have a hermit crab streaker|||Just put the snail in water for couple of minutes and if it doesn't come out then its dead


but you should let your snail FREE|||Step on it, if it cracks, it's dead, if it doesn't it's dead.|||poke it with a stick
