Can a slug eventually grow to be a snail?

I saw on the show "Pokemon" that a slug Pokemon named Slugma evolves into the snail, Magcargo.|||slugs and snails are different species without the ability to reproduce with one another so no in real life its impossible|||Can a word eventually grow to be a paragraph?|||No.
